Monday Quest!

Today, we ventured out to the North Side to continue the unfathomable quest for our I-want-this-list. Since it was a quest, we decided to bring my Lyka along. :D

Before anything else, we first pursued the before-unnamed shoe shop which we (with Rain) first discovered from a Mid-year sale in SM Megamall.  It was a branded-shoe warehouse where everything was arranged according to shoe-size—not the usual according-to-style type. The price of each shoe was dependent by its tag—SALE or REGULAR PRICE. Anyway, my mistake during this discovery was I forgot the store name. Rain told me that the North has its own branch but she also forgot the name and the location (friends indeed). My challenge was: how to describe this shoe store to the Concierge? *doh* The moment I approached the Concierge lady, I apologized immediately of my ignorance of the store’s name. As I made desperate attempts describing the shop I was able to utter the words “shoe warehouse”. A glint gleamed in her eyes and immediately knew what I was talking about. Directions were given and feet hurriedly stepped out and went to the floor.

I was ready for my Plan B due to fleeting hope when he noticed the shoe shop. It was PAYLESS SHOE SOURCE! I was really exhilarated! There were shoes that had an original price of Php1000+ but marked down as Php450+! I had rewarded my self with a pair of shoes. They replenish their stocks three times a week on a M-W-F schedule. I guess I’ll be back one of these days.

After the Shoe-Quest, we went to our next wanna-have’s. Gundam model (again) for my man and White Iphone 4s for me us.

Then we proceeded to the heart of the Quest: search for the best TV (applicable to our preference)! We hopped from Ansons to Automatic Centre and back to Ansons (different locations), searching for the best and crisp TV deal (freebies, anyone?) with a ready-to-use movie file to test the quality of each brand (thank you Final Fantasy-Advent Children). Three original brands were chosen: Sony, Panasonic and Samsung with specific types and models (including dimensions for his TV rack). Prices range from Php20k to Php40k depending on the specifications. This 55” Samsung Smart TV captured my heart but had to consider my pocket’s feelings. First movie-test: Panasonic 32C3X (photo taken below). Colors: a bit pale, sounds: (DTS format not supported). Second test: Samsung 32D4000 (beside Panasonic). Colors: , sounds:. I was amazed! The audio was loud and clear and not to mention the amazing colors!

After some negotiations, our tummy suddenly growled as a sign of protest. We immediately succumbed to this undeniable call and grabbed a tremendous bite at Army Navy (so much for the craving of Freedom Fries).

Not to mention that our Sweet Tooth had to be satisfied too. Another yummy Gong Cha to boot!

Due to bloated tummy, we decided to look for another Appliance Store for the TV quest. This time, it was the 42” Sony Bravia with a price almost the same as his size (okay, with free home theater as their yuletide-season-deal).  Third movie-test: Sony Bravia. Colors: , sounds:, assisted by Salesman 1.

We requested for another fourth movie test with Samsung 32D4000 and expecting the same as the Second-test *duh* but with a higher price, assisted by Salesman 2. Then we’d noticed the LCD model,  Samsung 32D550. This time, I was speechless. The colors were MORE vivid! Salesman 1 noticed us then approached and performed another sales talk with Salesman 2 (hmm, partner-in-crime?). Salesman 2 offered to have a Fifth movie test with Sharp. Colors: pale, sounds: . Salesman 2 gave Salesman 1 a “I-told-you-so-look”. I was entertained with these boys…reminded me of the two same boys whom I really know.

There were numerous choices but we trimmed them down into three (pockets and hearts both considered):

  Panasonic 32C3X

  Samsung 32D550

  LG 32LK430

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the greatest among them all? We’re still undecided at the moment and my instinct tells me that another quest will happen anytime soon…
